About
Hi, I’m Christy Burke, the educator behind Jupiter Tutor.
With over 20 years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, and personalized learning support and a Master’s Degree in Writing, I’ve worked with students of all ages and learning styles—including many with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, sensory processing differences, and other diverse learning needs.
I believe learning should feel encouraging, calm, and tailored to the student—not rushed or overwhelming. That’s why I focus on one-on-one instruction that adapts to how your child learns best, building confidence first so progress can follow naturally.

what's going on?
Why Students Struggle
- Most students don’t get the individual attention they need.
- Many feel lost in large classes or overwhelmed by teaching methods that don’t match how they learn.
- Confidence drops when learning feels confusing, hurried, or impersonal.

My belief
How I help
- I meet students where they are — not where they should be.
- I adapt pacing, methods, and reinforcement to their unique learning style.
- I build understanding before pushing ahead — so your child really grasps concepts.
- I foster confidence, not dependence — making them more independent learners over time.
Why It Works
- With 20+ years of experience teaching diverse learners, I know the pitfalls and how to avoid them.
- My background includes working with students who have ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other learning differences — and helping them find joy and success in learning.
- Because each tutoring plan is personalized, students often see better retention, improved confidence, and more consistent gains.

Reaching out for tutoring can feel like a big step — especially if your child has had frustrating experiences with school or homework in the past. To help you feel confident and informed, here are some of the most common questions parents ask when getting started.
Most tutoring focuses only on grades or homework completion. I focus on how your child learns, building confidence, understanding, and calm—not stress and pressure.
Yes. I have extensive experience working with neurodiverse learners in both school and one-on-one settings. I adjust pacing, communication, and strategies so students feel supported, not overwhelmed.
I tutor all core subjects, including English, reading, writing, math, science, and history.
My teaching often goes beyond academics to include confidence coaching, executive functioning support, organization skills, career prep and structured homework guidance—because real progress happens when students feel supported in how they learn, not just what they’re learning.
